This unveiling of the painting took place on the 150th anniversary of the original signing of the Treaty of Green Ville.
The number "82" is written on the back of the photograph in pencil. The number may have been a way the photographer recalled what negative this image was on a film roll.
John Frabott II of Grove City, OH (Fanklin County) acquired this photograph through a box he bought at an estate sale in Bexley, Ohio. He donated it to the Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board on March 15th 2016.
The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board took over the care of the Statehouse and its collections in 1988.
