Clarence J. "Bud" Brown, Jr. was born June 18, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio. Brown was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives by special election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of his father, Clarence Brown, in 1965. Bud was reelected to eight succeeding Congressional terms from 1965-1983. In 1982 Brown ran for Ohio governor with James E. Betts. The pair was not elected; Richard Celeste and Myrl Shoemaker won the election. |
