Promotional cookbook. A collaboration between Fran DeWine and Dolly Parton on behalf of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library and The Ohio Governor's Imagination Library. The booklet is teal, and the cover includes a photo of Fran DeWine holding the Gubernatorial Edition of her cookbook and Dolly Parton's book: Dolly's Dixie Fixin's. The cover reads: "On behalf of the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library / Fran DeWine / and / Dolly Parton / present / Our Family Favorites / A Collection of Beloved Recipes" The inside cover reads- "Dear Friend, / When I met Dolly Parton in Cleveland in 2016, I told her how much I / loved her book project. I shared with her the absolute joy in my / grandkids' eyes when their Imagination Library books showed up in / their mailbox! / During the show that night, Dolly talked about the program and how / she loved having her dad help her -- how proud he was that she was / helping kids all over Tennessee and all over the world learn to read. / It was then that I realized that if Mike ever did get to become / governor, I wanted to make these books available to every child in / Ohio. / It has been a great honor for me to partner with Dolly and her / Imagination Library as Mike and I have worked to establish the Ohio / Governor's Imagination Library. We are so grateful for Dolly -- for / creating and supporting such a wonderful program to help all of our / children! / But our love of children and our love of books is not the only thing / that Dolly and I have in common. We both love to cook. The Fran DeWine cookbook pamphlets are one aspect of Mike DeWine's campaign that centers around the DeWine family ideals. There have been thirteen prior editions of the DeWine recipe books that were written and distributed for promotional campaign purposes. This edition is significant in that it was created in partnership with Dolly Parton for the purpose of recognizing and promoting the Ohio Governor's Imagination Library, made in partnership with Dolly Parton's Imagination Library. The Ohio Governor's Imagination Library operates with the goal of providing books and easy access to reading material to young Ohioans in order to promote reading skills, educational development, and schooling. This cookbook contains recipes from both Fran DeWine's and Dolly Parton's families and cookbooks. In writing this pamphlet, Fran DeWine denotes her passion for cooking, which has played a significant part in DeWine's political career. Fran grew up Yellow Springs, Ohio, where she met her husband in grade school. As First Lady of Ohio, Fran spearheaded the expansion of Dolly Parton's Imagination Library of Ohio statewide. Due to her actions Ohioans can sign up and children under the age of five are eligible to receive a free book in the mail once a month. |
