Carl L. Nippert served as Ohio's twenty-sixth lieutenant governor from January 13, 1902 to May 1, 1902 under Governor George K. Nash. Prior to that, he was a member of the Ohio Senate from 1900 to 1902. He was elected lieutenant governor in 1901 and began his term in January of 1902. When a vacancy opened for the Hamilton County probate judge, Governor Nash appointed Nippert to the seat. He was then elected to a three-year term on the court in 1903. |

Workers found this envelope during the renovation of the Statehouse in the 1990s. The Capitol Square Review and Advisory Board took over the care of the Statehouse and its collections in 1988. |
